To add yourself to the Genealogy Helplist for one of the above states or countries, please enter the following information into the form at the end:
PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to join a state or country not listed above go to the main index and select the location desired then follow those instructions.

  1. Name and internet-style email address.
  2. The geographic location for which you will do research
  3. Specific items you can look up for that location (census, vital records, etc. with specific dates and details.)

Good Example:

Location: Lancaster County
Items:
Marriage Records 1866-1892 (Please include full name for groom or bride(maiden) and an approximate date)
1880 Census
Land Records 1860-1890
Obituaries from the Daily Herald 1872-1930(Must include full name and at least year of death)

Bad Example:

Location: Brazil--(it is unlikely that you can cover a whole country or even a whole state unless you have a book or index that specifically, quickly, and concisely covers that region)
Items:
Birth, Marriage, and Death Records
All newpapers
Everything in the National Archives
--(If your source does cover a large area it is sure to be limited to specific records, dates, and other restrictions. If you will be looking up each record yourself you could list the dates for which these records are available, and what specifics you will need to successfully search for them. Be careful not to list so much that the work would be overwhelming)

Please only list items you can do lookups in on a fairly regular basis. Remember you will be doing this on a strictly voluntary basis, so don't list things that will take hours of research unless you are willing to do it.

Try to list items that aren't widely available to others and are of general interest to others. In fact, we will not add the following to the Helplist so
Do Not List:

Due to the amount of time it takes to maintain the Helplist, we may not respond to entries that do not contain anything that we can add to the Helplist.

Please remember that you cannot in any way profit from looking up the items you list. You may recover costs you spend directly on the behalf of someone else (if both parties agree) such as copy costs and postage, but you cannot charge for your time. If you feel that something needs too much research to do for free, simply don't list it.
